Lhaviyani, Kaafu Atolls Mark Next Phase of President Muizzu’s Nationwide Outreach

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has commenced a two-day official tour of the inhabited islands of Lhaviyani Atoll and several in Kaafu Atoll, part of a broader initiative to strengthen nationwide outreach and decentralised development.

The visit includes formal engagements with island councils and women’s development committees (WDCs), where discussions will centre on strategic development priorities and community welfare. In addition to institutional meetings, the president will engage directly with residents to gain firsthand insight into local concerns and aspirations.

The itinerary includes visits to four islands in Lhaviyani Atoll: Naifaru, Hinnavaru, Kurendhoo and Olhuvelifushi, followed by scheduled stops in Kaashidhoo, Dhiffushi and Thulusdhoo in Kaafu Atoll.

This tour forms part of President Muizzu’s pledge to visit every atoll in the country, reinforcing sustained engagement with atoll, island, and city councils as a cornerstone of national development strategy. He is accompanied by cabinet ministers and senior officials from key government institutions.
