Minister of Housing and Urban Development Aminath Athifa has inspected the social housing units in Fonadhoo and Gan, as part of her official two-day visit to Laamu Atoll.
Accompanied by Minister of State for Housing and Urban Develop Ahmed Nasheed and Parliamentarian Mohamed Wisam, the minister visited the newly populated housing areas in Fonadhoo and Gan and inspected the sewer connections and conditions of the housing units.
During the visit, the delegation met with members of Laamu Atoll Council and discussed the social housing projects conducted under Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation Limited (FDC), housing needs assessments, planned housing projects and plans for further housing development projects.
The minister and her delegation also met Fonadhoo Island Council and Gan Island Council.
