Maldivian Ambassador to the UK Dr. Farahanaz Faisal has stated the ambassadors appointed to foreign countries have a bigger role than just strengthening bilateral ties.
Speaking at a ceremony held to handover books to schools donated by Maldivian Embassy in UK, Dr. Farahanaz Faisal said ambassadors once appointed are tasked with strengthening ties, adding ambassadors must also assist in internal matters.
Dr. Farahanaz expressed the Maldivian Embassy in UK is holding meetings with separate ministries to inquire about their needs. In this regard, she stated ambassadors can play a vital role in the development of the country.
During the ceremony, the Maldivian Embassy in UK donated books to Ministry of Education. The books presented by Dr. Farahanaz was received by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali.
Speaking at the ceremony, the education minister noted there are very few nooks in some libraries books, adding the donated books will be distributed very soon.
