President's Office to accept complaints on social housing projects

Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has revealed the complaint forms for social housing projects will only be accepted by President's Office. The housing ministry made the statement following many parties submitting the forms at the ministry.

President's Office opened opportunity to file complaints regarding flat recipients after publishing the lists of flat recipients from the social housing schemes initiated by the previous administration. President's Office opened opportunity, until March 25, for individuals to submit complaints regarding the procedures of the housing projects and flat awarding processes.

Moreover, according to President's Office, complaints can be submitted via letters, SMS or email. President's Office further revealed the flat recipient forms will be downloadable from its website.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih established Committee Investigating Public Housing Schemes under efforts to investigate all issues related to housing projects launched by the previous administration.

The committee highlighted there were no guidelines followed in awarding marks for the applicants for social housing. The committee also informed it was currently in the process of identifying those responsible for negligence.
