The government has launched an online portal to ease the process of applying for social housing units. The portal was launched at a ceremony held at State Electric Company (STELCO) by Minster of Housing and Urban Development Aminath Athifa.
Establishing an online portal to ease the process of applying for social housing projects is a pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih included in the first 100-day pledge policy.
Speaking about the portal, Housing Minister Athifa said the portal will enable easy access to information about social housing projects of the government. She revealed any individual can register to the portal and submit applications to social housing projects online.
Although no housing projects are conducted currently, further efforts are underway to develop the portal, according to housing ministry.
