Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has commenced a survey to identify the progress of finishing works at Hiya flats.
HDC will be conducting the survey until March 30, during which teams will be visiting the flats between 1000hrs and 2000hrs every day. HDC stated it is conducting the survey to gather information on the finishing works being done at Hiya flats as well as on other services.
In December last year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih extended the deferment of rent on the Hiya flats for an additional three months, until the end of March. The government deferred the rent on the Hiya flats to provide more time to complete the finishing works.
During the survey, tenants will be asked about their opinion on establishing a corporate society to elect a board to oversee public services and management in the towers. They will also be asked about the cleaning and security services at the flats as well as the GPON network.
HDC stated that the surveyors will be wearing their office uniforms and that they will not ask tenants to disclose personal information such as their bank account information. Tenants can also book an appointment to meet a surveyor if one does not visit them at their apartment.
