Maldives focused in promoting tourism, trade with Vietnam

The Maldives has expressed the commitment to work closely with Vietnam on the areas of promoting tourism, trade and other areas of mutual interest. The discussions between the two countries took place during a courtesy call on the President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc after the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives Mohamed Jinah presented his Letter of Credence.

During the courtesy call held at the Presidential Palace, Hanoi, following the ceremony, Ambassador Jinah expressed his gratitude for being given the honour to present his Letter of Credence and to serve as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Vietnam. The ambassador also conveyed greetings from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives. He further expressed the commitment to work closely with the Government f Vietnam.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated Ambassador Jinah on the assumption of his duties as Non-Resident Ambassador and expressed hope to work closely with the Maldives in further strengthening the relations and increasing people-to-people-to-contact between the two countries.

During his visit to Vietnam, Ambassador Jinah will pay a courtesy call on Bui Thanh Son, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam. He will also be meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to discuss further exploring opportunities and enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.
