MAA brings aircraft for its training

Maldives Aviation Academy (MAA) has brought in new aircraft to be used in its training.

MAA said a Multi-Engine Tecnam aircraft was brought in for use. The new aircraft will be used in the training of students of Addu Flying School, according to the academy. The academy added the aircraft can be used in multi-engine training for students.

MAA, inaugurated on December 28, 2021, is a collaboration between Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), Maldives National University (MNU), and the Czech Republic-based Flying Academy. The academy is operated under a joint venture between IASL and MNU and is based in Gan International Airport (GIA) in Addu City.

MAA began classes with 35 students in its first batch. The first batch includes students of the Asian Academy of Aeronautics (AAA) that previously operated in Addu but had to discontinue their training for a variety of reasons. However, MAA said more programmes will be introduced in the near future.
