Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has commenced efforts to accredit the hospital in its efforts to meet international hospital standards.
In a statement, IGMH expressed intent to adhere to the guidelines of National Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).The accreditation is carried out under consultation with ACME Consultation, an Indian firm.
The purpose of the accreditation is to streamline IGMH healthcare and laboratory services to match international standards, according to IGMH. The process of streamlining involves acquiring tools and equipment that meets certain standards and to audit IGMH service and work regularly.
Speaking to PSM News, CEO of IGMH Ibrahim Saleem said the purpose of the management is to develop the hospital as a standardised institute. Saleem further said the hospital intends to put in place the necessary procedures and processes in the next 16 months. He said the hospital will be well recognised in the international arena once the accreditation process completes.
IGMH has been taking various measures to increase its portfolio of services and to improve its service quality.
