The Foundation of Eydhafushi Youth Linkage (FEYLI) has officially opened a state-of-the-art Digital Studio and a revitalised Vocational Training Lab at the Baa Atoll Education Centre.
The project, funded by the Bank of Maldives (BML) through its annual Bank Fund grant, is designed to equip students with practical, hands-on experience to enhance their creativity and future employability.
The new Digital Studio provides a professional-grade creative suite, fully equipped with digital cameras and a complete production setup. The facility will host structured training programmes in essential modern skills such as photography, videography, and digital content creation, empowering a new generation of storytellers and media professionals in the atoll.
Complementing the digital offering, the existing Vocational Training Lab has been significantly enhanced. The upgrades include the development of a comprehensive carpentry section, kitted out with essential hand tools, battery-powered electric tools, and critical safety equipment.
A new tailoring section has also been established, fitted with sewing machines and all necessary materials to support students learning the craft of garment-making. Necessary training programmes for both disciplines are planned to maximise the lab's use.
FEYLI was a recipient of the BML’s annual Bank Fund programme, which provides grants of USD 12,970 to registered NGOs for projects that deliver tangible benefits to local communities across the Maldives.
