MTCC contracted to construct harbours in 3 islands

The government of Maldives has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to construct harbours in 3 islands. The agreement was signed by CEO of MTCC Hassan Shah and Director General at Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure Fathimath Shaana Faarooq.

As part of the agreement, MTCC will construct harbours in Fehendhoo and Fulhadhoo in Baa Atoll and Feevah in Shaviyani Atoll. In this regard, MTCC will complete the construction of the harbour in Fehendhoo within one year at a cost of USD 3.202 million. The construction of the harbour in Fulhadhoo will cost USD 3.111 million, while the harbour in Feevah would cost USD 3.182 million. These two harbours should be completed within 390 days, according to the contract.

Planning ministry has decided to conduct harbour development projects in 45 islands this year.
