3 companies contracted to complete 9 water and sewerage related projects

The Government of Maldives has contracted water and sewerage related projects in 9 islands to 3 private companies.

About USD 13.666 million would be spent from the state budget to conduct the projects, according to Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure.

In separate ceremonies held at the planning ministry, 3 companies were contracted with the establishment of water and sewerage facilities in 7 islands, water facilities in 1 island and sewerage facilities in 1 island. In this regard, 5 projects were contracted to Mohan Mutha Exports Private Limited, as joint venture projects with Point Three Private Limited. The five projects handed over to Mohan Mutha Private Limited are establishment of water and sewerage facilities in Hithaadhoo in Baa Atoll, Rasgetheemu in Raa Atoll and Vandhoo in Thaa Atoll as well as establishment of water facilities in Kanditheemu in Shaviyani Atoll and establishment of water facilities in Foakaidhoo in Shaviyani Atoll.

Meanwhile, establishment of water facilities in 3 islands were contracted to Azrova Maldives Private Limited, as joint venture projects with Water Engineering Services FZE. The 3 projects contracted to Azrova Maldives Private Limited include the establishment of water and sewerage facilities in Vaadhoo in Raa Atoll, Komandoo in Shaviyani Atoll and Kan’doodhoo in Thaa Atoll.

Moreover, planning ministry handed over the establishment of water and sewerage facilities in Maroshi in Shaviyani Atoll to Static Company Private Limited.

The planning ministry revealed all projects were handed over, as per the design and bid policy, to be completed within a period of two years.
