Maldives Forensic stakeholders meeting concludes

Maldives Police Service has concluded, Maldives Forensic Stakeholders meeting. During the meeting, discussions were held on challenges faced in conducting forensic tests and ways to overcome these challenges.

Moreover, discussions were focused on dealing with murder cases and other sensitive cases. Further discussions were held on the situation of forensics in the country and improvements needed in the sector.

Upon conclusion of the meeting, Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen said, the meeting will further enhance forensics within Maldives Police Service. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Deputy Head of Specialist Support Abdulla Ahmed stated, discussions mostly focused on solving murder cases, including postmortem procedures.

The meeting was held by Maldives Police Service and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Maldives Red Crescent and other stakeholders at forensics.
