UPS updated to continue service without interruption

Minister of Communication, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal has revealed the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) has been updated. An uninterruptible power supply or uninterruptible power source (UPS) is an electrical apparatus that provides emergency power to a load when the input power source or the main power fails.

Speaking at a press conference, Communications Minister Maleeh Jamaal revealed the project to establish a sustainable energy providing system has been delayed for more than two years from the initial conclusion deadline. However, Minister Maleeh said the system has been upgraded completely in efforts to continue providing the services from government authorities even during sudden interruption of electricity.

Furthermore, Minister Maleeh revealed while database is the most important tool in providing the service, it is important for technical staff of National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) to stay alert at all times. He added upgrading the UPS system has developed the e-governance mechanism of the country.

Moreover, the minister said the application on developer process to apply for government housing units online is also nearing completion. He further revealed the application for the weekend market initiated by Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has also been completed, adding 95% of the online application to apply for flats is also complete.
