HDC says huge percentage of tarring completed on 14.2km road

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has completed tarring a huge percentage of the 14.2-kilometre road in Hulhumale' second phase. HDC completed laying the aggregate base course layer in December.

While the asphalt laying on the road network of Hulhumale' second phase started in the last weeks of December, HDC noted that the work is progressing at a very fast pace. The road development project includes construction of an asphalt road network with street lights and pavement walkways, according to HDC.

Furthermore, as part of the road development project, HDC also continues to establish water and sewerage networks, electric lines, telephone junction boxes, and lighting arrangements. Indian based companies Mohan Mutha Exports and Asoka Build-Con conduct the road development project of Hulhumale' second phase for a cost of USD40.3 million.
