The Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare has concluded a series of meetings with hospital CEOs aimed at decentralising healthcare services and expanding outreach programmes to bring essential services closer to people across the Maldives.
The meetings were held as part of efforts to improve the quality of healthcare services and build a healthier society. The Ministry said Male City Group of Hospitals had expressed its full support and commitment to assisting efforts to expand healthcare services.
The discussions also focused on identifying administrative challenges faced by hospitals and exploring sustainable and effective solutions to address them. Separate discussions were held with the relevant institutions on ways to overcome these challenges and improve hospital management.
The meetings highlighted the importance of all institutions working together as one team to establish a strong and interconnected national healthcare system, with institutions able to support and rely on one another.
Minister of Health, Family and Welfare Geela Ali emphasised that working towards a common goal, rather than focusing on individual services separately, would help improve the quality of healthcare services and strengthen public confidence in the health system.
Following the meetings, the Ministry expressed hope that administrative management would become more efficient and that the healthcare services provided to the public would see positive improvements.
