President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed condolences to former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad following the death of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
In a message to Dr Mahathir, President Muizzu said he was deeply saddened by the death of Siti Hasmah, who was among Malaysia’s first women doctors and made significant contributions to maternal health and the development of rural women.
The President also highlighted her work in promoting gender equality and family welfare, saying her lifelong commitment to serving the community and empowering future generations would be remembered with respect.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, President Muizzu extended his deepest condolences to Dr Mahathir and his family, wishing them strength and patience during their time of grief.
He also expressed hope that memories of Siti Hasmah’s life, service and values would bring comfort to her family and the Malaysians whose lives she touched.
President Muizzu concluded by praying that Almighty Allah accept her good deeds and grant her Jannat.
