A special coordinating committee of the President has been formed to manage the national initiative on promoting respect, as the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage makes final preparations to launch the campaign.
The Government introduced the national initiative to promote respect across the Maldives. As part of preparations to launch the campaign under the initiative, a special team has now been formed to coordinate the work.
The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage said the nine-member coordinating committee comprises representatives from ministries and institutions involved in the initiative. Ibrahim Sobah represents the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Nasreena Idrees the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology, and Ali Fahumy the Ministry of Defence and National Service.
The committee also includes Mohamed Natheem from the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development; Ahmed Aiman from the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises; Maryam Lahufa Khaleel from the Ministry of Health, Family and Social Development; Sheikh Ahmed Fahumy Didi from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs; Shadhiya Ahmed from the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Wellbeing; and Ibrahim Iqbal from Public Service Media.
The coordinating committee has already held its first meeting, where members discussed the role it will play in carrying forward the initiative and the measures required to implement the campaign comprehensively. They also exchanged views on planning the work in collaboration with the relevant institutions.
The Ministry is making final preparations for the campaign following President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's announcement of the national initiative to promote respect. It has opened submissions for the design of a logo to be used for the campaign.
The Ministry is also working to ensure participation from all sectors in the initiative and has drawn up agreements with media organisations that will take an active role in the campaign.
The Government has selected “Ihuthiraamuge Ufaa – Mujuthama'uge Nafaa” as the slogan for the national initiative.
