The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has held talks with UAE-based National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) to explore opportunities for strategic collaboration and cooperation.
According to MTCC, the discussions held in Abu Dhabi focused on joint project development in the Maldives, dredging and specialised equipment support, potential investments by NMDC in MTCC projects, technical training, knowledge sharing, and employee exchange programmes. MTCC said an agreement will be signed following the discussions.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Maldives to the UAE Thoriq Ibrahim, alongside MTCC Chairperson Saadha Ibrahim, Managing Director Ahmed Saudhee, and senior officials of MTCC. NMDC was represented by its Chief Executive Officer Niels De Bruijn alongside other senior officials of the company.
MTCC is involved in major development projects implemented in the Maldives, particularly dredging projects. Meanwhile, NMDC Group has around 50 years of experience in marine dredging projects in the Middle East and South Asia.
