Zulaikha Reesha Rashad has been officially appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies at the Maldives National University (MNU).
Reesha brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served the National University for many years. Her extensive academic tenure includes working as a Lecturer at the faculty from 2024 to 2026, preceded by service as an Associate Lecturer from 2016 to 2018 and from 2020 to 2023.
Speaking after assuming her new position, Dean Reesha assured that she would work diligently to raise educational standards and introduce innovative practices by building upon the faculty's robust foundation. She highlighted that her key objectives include expanding high-quality educational programmes, securing academic accreditation, and advancing scholarly research aligned with the nation's strategic development goals.
Reesha also emphasised that priority will be given to integrating digital tools across all operational areas of the faculty to foster sustainable growth. Her overarching vision is to nurture well-rounded students equipped with essential technical skills and knowledge, firmly grounded in strong morals and work ethics, who are prepared to actively contribute to a sustainable future for the Maldives.
