Banks to open on 28 May during Eid al-Ad’ha holidays

The central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced that banks will be open on 28 May during the upcoming Eid al-Ad’ha holidays.

This year, 24 to 30 May have been declared as government holidays on the occasion of Eid al-Ad’ha. However, banking services will operate on 28 May from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, according to MMA.

The authority has advised the public to withdraw sufficient cash and coins during the current week, ahead of the Eid holidays, as this service will not be provided on 28 May.

Hajj Day falls on 26 May this year, followed by Eid al-Ad’ha on 27 May. Public holidays will continue until 30 May on the occasion of Eid.
