Minister Ihusaan observes Media Village construction

The Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology, Ali Ihusaan has observed the construction work of the Media Village being established by the government.

The Minister has visited the construction site, met with the team and officials of the project and enquired about the progress of work. This initiative has been allocated to World of Business Private Limited, with work currently ongoing at a rapid pace with the aim of completion by June.

The Media Village represents a key initiative under President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's administration to address the longstanding space constraints faced by local media organisations. It would also offer an affordable solution to media outlets renting out spaces in private buildings

The project is being developed in a building constructed by the State Trading Organization (STO) seventeen years ago as a city hotel, which has since been operated by World Business Pvt Ltd since August of last year. Under the government's new strategic vision, the facility is being redeveloped and rebranded as the "Manhattan Grand."

The facility would have 34 spaces, including offices and studios and allow for development of the media sector by these private outlets.
