Filladhoo health centre foundation laid as road works commence

The foundation stone for the Filladhoo Health Centre upgrading project has been laid.

The project is part of the government’s efforts to expand and improve health services in Filladhoo. The project will increase the building space of the health centre and establish new facilities, strengthening healthcare access for island residents.

A ceremony to mark the launch of practical work under the island’s road development project was also held. The project, awarded to the Road Development Corporation (RDC) for USD 5 million on 14 August last year, is scheduled to completed within two years. Work will include tarring, drainage, and street lighting on major roads in Filladhoo. The project aims to enhance social and economic development and address flooding issues during the rainy season.
