The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen, has said that important steps will be taken to strengthen the maritime industry this year.
The government is working to expand the services of the maritime sector, managed under the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.
In a post on X, Minister Ameen said discussions had been held with industry experts on strengthening and promoting the Maldives’ maritime industry in line with International Maritime Organisation (IMO) standards.
The Minister said this year will be a year where important measures will be taken to expand maritime services, aiming to make significant progress in the sector. He said an advisory committee comprising technical experts would be formed to seek consultation and advice on the development of the industry
