The foundation stone for Haa Alifu Atoll Hospital’s new building has been laid.
At a special ceremony held at Dhidhdhoo on Saturday, Minister of Health Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim officiated the groundbreaking for the project.
The project includes the construction of a four-storey, 50-bed hospital, along with a single-storey service block and a boundary wall. The project was contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) at a value of USD 12.04 million, with a completion period of 780 days. The new facility is expected to enhance healthcare and bring ease to the residents of the atoll and neighbouring atolls.
MTCC has a 44-year track record of delivering major infrastructure projects across the Maldives.
