President’s development plans are revolutionary: Dr. Muizzu

Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu Friday evening described President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s national developmental plan as “revolutionary”.

Speaking at a rally organised by the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) in Fuvahmulah, Dr. Muizzu said President Yameen’s plans have brightened the country’s future.

Citing that people are inhabited in 181 islands, Dr. Muizzu noted that over 560 projects are currently in various stages of development.

He further spoke on the importance of the recently enacted Defamation and Freedom of Speech Act, describing the law as “necessary”, to mend the country’s social fabric.

Speaking at the rally, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim spoke about the government’s health sector development plans.

Looking back at new services introduced under President Yameen’s leadership, the Health Minister announced that dialysis services will soon be launched in Fuvahmulah.

He further noted that the service is currently available in Malé and Hulhumalé in Malé City, Kulhudhuffushi Island, Haa Dhaal Atoll, Ungoofaaru Island, Raa Atoll, Thinadhoo, Gaaf Dhaal Atoll and Addu City.

Other speakers at the rally also praised the mega-developmental projects undertaken by the government.
