Pedestrian crossing lights to be installed in Male'

Urbanco has decided to install pedestrian crossing lights in Male' City.

Urbanco stated that a special traffic light for pedestrians will be donated at the request of Vice President Faisal Naseem. The lights will be installed near Senahiya Military Hospital in Male'. Urbanco also stated that pedestrian crossing lights will also be installed at nine locations in Hulhumale'. These pedestrian lights will also be solar-powered.

Speaking to PSM News, the Manager of Traffic and Road Services at Urbanco Mohamed Safwan said that the installation of lights will be conducted especially for students. He also said that students will be able to walk between home and school safely when the lights are installed.

Urbanco stated that one of the main objectives of installing pedestrian crossing lights is to provide a safe environment for residents by making the roads safer and reducing accidents. In addition, Urbanco planned to install dividers on major roads to reduce dangerous accidents, and signboards indicating the presence of dividers will also be put up in the area.
