MTCC nears completion of three airport development projects

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that it is nearing the completion of three airport development projects.

Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate Faresmaathoda Airport, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adam Azim noted that MTCC has completed the development of Hoarafushi Airport, Maavarulu Airport, and Faresmaathoda Airport, and will soon begin the construction of runways of Muli Airport, Magoodhoo Airport, and Alifushi Airport, which is under development. He said that the runways are 1,200m and that MTCC aims to complete the projects during the current presidential term.

Additionally, Azim said the runway protection zone is being established at the Kulhudhuffushi Airport to install the navigation lights and that the Maafaru Airport expansion project is expected to be completed within one year.
