President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated he has been released from the hospital after undergoing surgery for thyroid treatment on March 25.
In a tweet, President Solih said he was in good health and was released from the hospital on March 1. He expressed hope to return to the Maldives soon.
Before undergoing surgery, President Solih briefly handed over his powers and responsibilities to Vice President Faisal Naseem. The president reassumed his duties within four hours.
President Solih departed to Singapore for medical treatment on March 23. He was accompanied by First Lady Fazna Ahmed.
