Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced a programme to provide business opportunities for individuals in the national register of the poor and needy.

The agreement to conduct the programme was signed by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir and Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Fayyaz said the programme aims to provide opportunities for underprivileged individuals to support themselves, thereby eliminating the need for the register of the poor and needy. He said the participants of the programme will receive help from Business Centre Corporation (BCC), Maldives Fund Management Company Limited (MFMC), as well as companies that assist small and medium businesses.

Also at the ceremony, Minister Zahir said the main purpose of the programme is to provide a better future for those in need. He added that participants will receive technical support throughout the programme.
