President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Luayyu Saeed to the post of Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Luayyu Saeed holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting, obtained from Oxford Brookes University, England. Before his new appointment, Luayyu Saeed served as the General Manager—Finance at the Maldives Real Estate Investment Corporation (MREIC). He also served at the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) as an internal audit executive and at the Auditor General’s Office as a senior auditor.
The president has made some new appointments at deputy and state minister level over the past few days. As such, two new state ministers were appointed to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment and Ministry of Islamic Affairs on February 27.
