15 Maldivian students reach Hungary after leaving Ukraine

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed 15 Maldivian students have reached Hungary after leaving Ukraine.

The foreign ministry stated the students in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, had left after making arrangements with the Hungarian consulate. A team from the ministry received the students after they crossed the border to Hungary and reached Budapest. The ministry stated the students will arrive in the Maldives within two days, and arrangements are also being made for the eight Maldivians in Kharkiv and a student in Dnipro to leave Ukraine.

Furthermore, the foreign ministry is monitoring the safety of 140 Maldivian students in Grodno State Medical University in Belarus, as they are 1,500 kilometres away from the conflict. The ministry added that calls have been made to students in Russia near the Ukraine border and that they have assured they are safe.
