President departs to Singapore for medical treatment

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed to Singapore for medical treatment. First Lady Fazna Ahmed is accompanying him on the trip.

In a tweet before his departure, President Solih said he is travelling to Singapore to treat for thyroid illness and that he hopes to be back in the Maldives soon to fulfill his official duties. However, the President's Office had not revealed when the president would conclude his trip to Singapore.

The president and first lady last travelled to Singapore on an unofficial visit on February 10 and came back to the Maldives on February 15.
