President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to repatriate all Maldivian students in Ukraine.
The president issued the order due to the escalating situation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The foreign ministry stated it has commenced efforts to repatriate all 50 Maldivians residing in Ukraine.
The foreign ministry had earlier revealed there are 50 Maldivians currently in Ukraine, of which 29 are residing near the Russia-Ukraine border. The foreign ministry had also stated Maldivians living in Ukraine had been advised to register at the nearest diplomatic mission, which is the Maldives Embassy in Germany.
