Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi has discussed enhancing cooperation with the UAE. She held the discussions during a meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi during her trip to the Gulf kingdom.
Defence Minister Mariya and her delegation held the meeting with Minister Bowardi at the Unmanned Systems Exhibition (UMEX) and Simulation Training Exhibition (SIMTEX) Conference. The meeting took place in the presence of the UAE Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Mattar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri as well as several senior military officers and officials at the ministry.
During the meeting, State Minister Bowardi welcomed Minister Mariya and expressed his aspiration that the visit will contribute to opening up new horizons of cooperation and joint work in the coming decades to achieve the objectives of the two countries. They discussed several issues of mutual interest in the defence and military fields and ways to promote them. They also shared views on various issues and topics of mutual concern and the latest developments in the region and the world.
Minister Mariya was invited by State Minister Bowardi to attend the UMEX and SIMTEX conference, which is being held from February 21-23. UMEX and SIMTEX is a conference organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company, Tawazun Economic Council and the Ministry of Defence Affairs of the UAE. The event showcases the latest cutting-edge robotics and unmanned technology.
