USD36 million in deposit payments paid for expatriate employees

Ministry of Economic Development has stated USD36 million in deposit payments have been paid for expatriate employees.

The economic ministry stated USD36 million in deposit payments have been paid since it accepted the responsibility of monitoring expatriates and deposit payments via the expat online system in 2019. The ministry stated it also aims to refund deposits paid before the introduction of the online system, during which deposit payments were paid to various state authorities. It stated that individuals can submit requests to refund deposits that were paid during the period expatriates had been employed at the specific state institution.

The economic ministry will be accepting requests to refund visa deposit payments paid by private businesses until June 20. The request should be made with additional details of the deposit payment at the official ministry website. The ministry stated it will not accept any request to refund deposit payments after the deadline.
