Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has placed additional dustbins in the neighbourhood of Hiya flats in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
HDC stated additional dustbins have been deployed in the waste collection locations of Hiya neighbourhood. HDC called for the support and cooperation of all Hiya residents to keep the area clean.
HDC had previously placed 30 dustbins for decomposing waste near the Hiya flats. However, the dustbins get filled very quickly and as a result, a lot of waste is seen lying around outside. To address this issue, HDC has now placed another 30 dustbins for decomposing waste.
The waste collection service in the Hiya neighbourhood is carried out by Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO). Waste collection in the Hiya neighbourhood is carried out between 0800hrs and 1200hrs.
