PSM announces apprenticeship programme

Public Service Media (PSM) has announced its first apprenticeship programme aiming to build more media professionals. PSM has opened 25 slots for those seeking a career in the media industry. The apprenticeship programme will build and familiarise youth to the media front of the Maldives.

As part of the programme, participants will be given opportunities to explore different talents in addition to training. The apprenticeship programme focuses on building human resources in five areas, which include journalism, video and television production, radio production, news anchoring and programme presenting. The training will be conducted in Television Maldives (TVM), Dhivehiraajjeyge Adu and PSM News.

The participants will also be given an allowance of USD194. Meanwhile, an MQA level three certificate course will also be offered within the programme. To participate in the programme, one must have completed GCE O'Level or an equivalent exam and must be willing to work long hours in training and field experience.

Participants are required to SMS to 300 with their initial AP followed by full name, identity card number and phone number before 1600hrs on March 3.
