Minister of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has stated Career Exploration Programme 2022 aims to provide opportunities to the youth at Maldives Ports Limited (MPL). He made the remarks at the ceremony held to inaugurate the career exploration programme.
The youth ministry is partnering with MPL to conduct the programme, which aims to provide field exposure and information related to the functional areas, career opportunities and educational opportunities within the company.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Mahloof said participants will receive a significant advantage in career advancement upon completion of the programme. As such, he urged the participants to make full use of the programme and thanked MPL for providing the opportunity.
Also at the ceremony, Chief Operating Officer (CEO) Shahid Ali said MPL places the highest priority on maintaining its strict safety standards at the harbour and at sea. MPL has previously held similar apprenticeship programmes.
The Maldives port sector consists of numerous job and career opportunities including positions such as vessel operator, repairman, heavy equipment operator, and dockworker.
