Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has sold the 34 beachside plots opened for sale in Hulhumale’ Phase II to the highest bidders.
HDC revealed 179 people had bid for the 34 beachside plots that were opened for sale on December 27, 2021. HDC said the 34 winning bidders had proposed rates of USD450 to USD580 per sqft.
HDC had opened 60 land plots in Hulhumale’ Phase II for sale, including 26 beachfront plots and 34 beachside plots. The beachfront plots were also sold to the 26 highest bidders. HDC announced the area of the land plots sold in Hulhumale’ Phase II ranges between 1,603.07 sqft and 2,633.82 sqft.
Hulhumale’ Phase II was reclaimed in 2017 with the aim of fulfilling the housing needs of the public. The area was first populated in 2020, when individuals who bought private plots moved in. Since then, the recipients of flats under the Hiya housing project conducted in Hulhumale’ Phase II have also started moving in to their flats.
