State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has launched its annual Save Energy Campaign promotion.
The promotion will be held for customers who adopt an energy-conservative lifestyle and reduce the bill during the months of March, April, and May. Customers can participate in the promotion by registering through the STELCO website and receiving the chance to win prizes. STELCO stated the procedure will be initiated by comparing the bill of March with the bill of February and it will continue to the next two months as well.
The Save Energy Campaign is being held during the warmest period of the year when energy consumption and electricity bills rise.
Managing Director Hassan Mughnee said STELCO plans to create awareness on saving energy through the campaign. He highlighted that the annual campaign has resulted in a reduction in complaints and a 15% reduction in the electricity bill for some households. He added that the campaign will be expanded via television and social media with awareness programmes aimed at schools and offices.
STELCO provides power to the Greater Male' Region, which consists of half of the country's population.
