The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has donated CCTV equipment to Maldives Police Service (MPS).
The equipment was officially handed over to MPS during a ceremony held in Maafushi, Kaafu Atoll on December 16. The equipment was handed over by UNODC Project Support Officer Joshua Gonzalez and received by Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdul Mannan Yoosuf.
Speaking at the ceremony, the deputy commissioner expressed gratitude to the UNODC for its continued support and assistance to MPS. He also thanked the Government of Japan for the collaborated efforts with UNODC to strengthen the operations of MPS.
The ceremony in Maafushi was attended by several senior officers of MPS and officials from the Embassy of Japan in the Maldives.
