Brigadier General Mansoor retires after 37 years of service

Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor has retired from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) after 37 years of service.

Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi presented Brigadier General Mansoor with a medal board and a letter from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the farewell function. Further, Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal presented him with a letter and a photo board. Additionally, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdulla presented him with a remembrance card.

Brigadier General Mansoor joined military services on March 13, 1984, and served in various capacities in the MNDF. He served the longest in the Coast Guard as Director-General, Deputy Director-General, and as a Commandant. He also worked to develop human resources in the MNDF and served as the Central Area Commander, member of the training and evaluation committee, Managing Director of Kadhdhoo Airport Company limited (KACL), and Chief Spokesperson of the MNDF.

Brigadier General Mansoor has received 10 medals and 11 badges during his military career for his contributions and accomplishments in the MNDF.
