MTCC commences motorcycle ferry services in Addu

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced motorcycle ferry services between Hulhumeedhoo and Feydhoo, Addu City.

MTCC said each ferry can carry 15 motorcycles and 60 passengers per trip. A special lift to ease the loading of ferries has been arranged to enable loading and unloading despite changes in weather, MTCC added.

Motorcycle ferry services will be available on all days of the week except Fridays, according to MTCC. The price of the ferry services is fixed at USD 1.29 per motorcycle.

MTCC has scheduled to operate three daily ferries between Hulhumeedhoo and Feydhoo. However, the state-owned company also said the schedule may be changed after reviewing passenger movements.

As the largest transportation service provider in the Maldives, MTCC aims to facilitate affordable and convenient services to citizens.
