VP concludes trip to UAE to attend IOC 2021

Vice President Faisal Naseem has concluded his trip to the UAE to attend the Indian Ocean Conference (IOC) 2021.

The two-day conference began in Abu Dhabi under the theme Indian Ocean: Ecology, Economy and Epidemic. Vice President Naseem was accompanied by a high-level delegation from the President's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The vice president attended the conference as the guest of honour and delivered an address at its inaugural session. During the address, he called for united efforts and strengthened partnerships to safeguard the resilience and security of the Indian Ocean region.

During his visit, Vice President Naseem received a courtesy call from former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe. He also met with a member of the governing council of the India Foundation Ram Madhav, and the Director-General of the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) of Sri Lanka Professor Rohan Gunaratna on the sidelines of IOC 2021.

Furthermore, Vice President Naseem visited the Embassy of the Maldives in Abu Dhabi during his visit.
