Higher Education Minister meets Teacher Registration Board, discusses plans for regulation and licensing

Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan has met with the Teacher Registration and Licensing Board to discuss plans to implement teacher regulation and licensing.

The meeting was held at the higher education ministry on December 1. During the meeting, discussions were held on enhancing cooperation between the concerned authorities to successfully implement teacher regulation and licensing.

The Teacher Registration and Licensing Board was formed under Clause 38 of the new Education Act. The aim of the board is to begin the registration and licensing process of all teachers in the Maldives. The board comprises of five members, with Minister of State for Education Aishath Athiya Naseer appointed as the registrar of the board.
