Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has administered the oath of the two newly appointed judges to the Family Court of the Maldives.
JSC had appointed Zaeema Nasheed Aboobakuru and Maeesha Yoosuf Sameer as Family Court judges. The two new judges took their oath and were presented with their letters of appointment by President of JSC Hisaan Hussain on November 28.
Zaeema Nasheed Aboobakuru earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Shari’ah and Law from Kulliyathul Dhiraasathil Islamiyya, now known as the Islamic University of the Maldives (IUM). She earned her Master’s Degree in Shari’ah from Villa College, and had served as the Registrar at Juvenile Court for more than 9 years.
Maeesha Yoosuf Sameer earned her Bachelor of Law from the University of London. She has served as a prosecutor at the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) for more than 3 years.
