Vice President Faisal Naseem has revealed the government is working to further develop regional hospitals in an effort to provide high-quality healthcare in various parts of the country. He made the remarks at a meeting with the Kulhudhuffushi City Council, the Women's Development Committee (WDC), and senior local institutional representatives.
During the meeting, Vice President Naseem emphasised that the government places a high priority on the development of the health sector, particularly in regional hospitals. He also said the issue of waste management will be resolved and discussions will be held with relevant authorities regarding the issues raised by the council and institutional representatives. The discussions at the meeting were focused on the challenges faced by the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, the waste management in the city, and the rapid progress of the city's development.
Additionally, the representatives from the schools in Kulhudhuffushi City highlighted the developmental needs of the schools and the challenges they have faced. In this regard, they shared concerns regarding the delay in initiating some of the infrastructure projects planned for schools. They also briefed the vice president on the difficulties faced in recruiting personnel for key positions.
Additionally, the representatives from the regional hospital noted the need to complete the ongoing and planned projects to address the space constraints faced by Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital at the earliest. They also highlighted that the past three years have been the most successful period for upgrading the services of the hospital, and noted that the government is working on upgrading the hospital to the tertiary level.
