President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has held extensive discussions with Addu City Council on concerns and future plans to further develop Addu City.
At the meeting held in Aarah, the councillors noted that despite being constitutionally empowered, they still face many obstacles in implementing their mandate, especially in providing municipal services to its residents. In this context, they shed light on hurdles in addressing concerns such as housing, tourism, healthcare service development, and urban development needs.
At the meeting, the cabinet ministers provided government policy details on project execution as well as the most recent detailed information on ongoing projects identified by councillors. The president stated that he will communicate with the line ministries and the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in order to find appropriate solutions to the councilors' concerns.
