President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has toured the premises of the Maldives Polytechnic institute.
President Solih visited the government training institute and enquired about the course programmes at the facility. He also met with students enrolled at Maldives Polytechnic and signed the register of dignitaries during his visit.
Maldives Polytechnic was the first educational institution that offered technical and vocational education in the Maldives. The institute was created by a presidential decree under Article 116 of the Constitution of the Maldives in 2010. It operates within the Maldives Qualification Framework aligned with the principles and practices of partnership with the industry and community to provide demand-driven skills development for economic growth and the needs of the people for employment.
It aims to create opportunities for graduates and adult learners to acquire skills, knowledge, and values for employability and lifelong learning in a global economy.
The government has been focused on expanding services provided by Maldives Polytechnic by conducting technical and vocational courses in the atolls.
